Uranus is a planet unlike any other. Located at the edge of the Solar System, it is an ice giant composed primarily of hydrogen, helium, and especially water ice, ammonia, and methane. The latter gives Uranus its magnificent icy blue-green color.
But what makes Uranus truly unique? It's lying on its side ! Unlike the other planets, which spin like vertical tops, Uranus is tilted at 98°, as if it had been upside down. As a result, its poles point almost directly towards the Sun, creating extreme seasons that last… 21 years each !
It also has 13 dark rings, discreet but elegant, as well as 27 moons, all named after Shakespeare and Alexander Pope, a solar system reminiscent of ancient theater! And although it's a cold planet (around -214°C), Uranus emits far less internal heat than the other giants, giving it the record for the coldest planet in the solar system, a mystery that still intrigues astronomers!
NEWS FLASH: In Roman mythology, Uranus is the equivalent of the Greek god Ouranos (the Sky). He is the primordial god of the Sky, the father of the Titans along with Gaia (the Earth). He was castrated by his son Cronus (Saturn in Roman mythology), marking a cycle of divine revolutions!
Uranus is the planet of improbable tilts, mesmerizing colors, and secrets still well hidden … perfect for an equally incredible sticker! Add Uranus to your collection: a stunning world that never goes unnoticed.
