Titania, the largest of Uranus' moons, is a fascinating world of ice and rock measuring approximately 1,578 km in diameter, almost the size of our own Moon. Its interior is thought to consist of a rocky core surrounded by an icy mantle, and some models even suggest the possible presence of a liquid ocean buried beneath the surface, maintained by residual internal heat, a detail that adds tenfold to the mystery of this distant world.
Its surface, a slightly pinkish white, is marked by immense canyons, including the Messina Chasma fault which extends for more than 1,500 km; vertiginous cliffs several kilometers high; ancient craters smoothed by ice and geological processes, a sign that it may have been active in the past.
The reddish tint of certain areas comes from radiation and organic deposits formed in Uranus's unique environment. As for its orbit, perfectly aligned with the planet's extreme tilt, it plunges Titania into extreme seasons where each pole remains in darkness for 42 years.
FLASH NEWS: Like several other moons of Uranus, Titania is a character in one of Shakespeare's works. Titania is the powerful Queen of the Fairies, the wife of King Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream, known for her conflict with her husband after being the victim of a spell that made her fall in love with a donkey.
In short: Titania is more than just a moon; she's a glacial masterpiece sculpted by time, shadow, and light. Add Titania to your collection: a sticker that brings a touch of majesty and a breath of interplanetary mystery to your world.
