Rhea

Peacefully orbiting Saturn, the majestic Rhea seems to float between reality and dream. Covered in a thick layer of ice, it reflects sunlight like a celestial mirror, giving its surface an almost ghostly glow.

Saturn's second-largest moon, Rhea, holds many secrets: some astronomers believe it could be surrounded by a tiny ring of debris, a very rare phenomenon for a moon! Its surface, riddled with craters and crisscrossed by fine white lines, bears witness to a past marked by impacts and ice slides. But what truly makes it unique is its composition : a rocky core enveloped in a vast icy shell, a perfect balance between strength and fragility.

NEWS FLASH: In Greek mythology, Rhea is a Titaness and the mother of the Olympian gods (Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Hestia, and Demeter). She is the daughter of Gaia (Earth) and Uranus (the Sky). She is also the wife and sister of Cronus (Saturn), the Titan of time. Her main role is linked to fertility and motherhood, and she is best known for saving her son Zeus from his father Cronus, who devoured his children!  

Rhea is the poetry of cosmic frost, a moon that seems to have been sculpted by the silence of time!
