Perched at the edge of Uranus's realm, Oberon is a majestic and mysterious moon, shrouded in the bluish shadow of its icy world. It is the second largest moon of Uranus, a celestial body where sunlight barely touches the surface.
What makes Oberon unique? Its ancient, dark, and cratered surface bears witness to a turbulent past. Some of its craters even harbor ice peaks that gleam faintly in the distant sunlight, like frozen jewels. Beneath this shell of ice and rock, scientists suspect that a subterranean ocean may lie hidden, a remnant of forgotten internal heat. Oberon is actually a reddish color, shaped by the impacts of asteroids and comets.
FLASH NEWS : Like several other moons of Uranus, Oberon takes its name from a character in Shakespeare 's A Midsummer Night's Dream. In this play, Oberon is the king of the fairies who orchestrates magical events to take revenge on his wife Titania (another moon of Uranus, incidentally), after a quarrel.
Oberon is a blend of mystery, grandeur, and cosmic solitude, a moon that reminds us that even in the darkest corners of the solar system, beauty and secrets await discovery. Even though this moon is far away, its sticker isn't! In fact, it's waiting for you on our website!
