Noctilucent Cloud

Noctilucent clouds are undoubtedly the most mysterious and magical clouds in our atmosphere. Unlike ordinary clouds, they form extremely high, at an altitude of about 80 km, in the mesosphere, where the air is so cold and thin that water freezes on tiny particles of cosmic dust. The result: thin, bluish, almost silvery clouds that shimmer after sunset, when the sun still illuminates the upper layers of the atmosphere.

Visible mainly in late spring and summer at high latitudes, noctilucent clouds create delicate, undulating patterns that seem straight out of a dream… or another planet. They are also valuable scientific indicators, as their frequency may be linked to changes in the atmosphere and climate.
