Macrophage

If we could say that this cell suffers from a cardinal sin, it would undoubtedly be gluttony. In our case, this is an asset since it is the gluttonous cell that will devour the intruders that are in its path. Unlike selfish gluttons, this cell will share with other immune cells intruders that it has digested into small pieces, in order to recognize and prevent future infections.

NEWS FLASH: The word "Macrophage" comes from "Macro" which means large and "phage" which means to eat: 1 macrophage would eat up to 70 dead cells per day, while as a team, all the macrophages in your body would eat about 1 million dead cells per day.
