Perched in the Kuiper Belt, well beyond Neptune, Haumea is a dwarf planet with a unique shape : it is not round like the others, but stretched and oval, a bit like a cosmic rugby ball! This strange shape comes from its ultra-fast rotation: it makes a complete turn on itself in less than 4 hours, a record in the Solar System!

What makes Haumea even more fascinating is its shiny surface, covered in crystal-clear water ice that reflects the Sun's light like a jewel. On its surface is a red patch that could be explained by it being a region rich in organic compounds, or an older area, exposed or with a trace of ancient impact! And it is not alone: two small moons, Hiʻiaka and Namaka, orbit around it in a fluid celestial dance, named after the daughters of the Hawaiian goddess Haumea, symbol of creation and rebirth.

NEWS FLASH: In Hawaiian mythology, Haumea (also called "Mother of Hawaii") is the goddess of fertility, childbirth, and birth. She is known for the creation of several important deities such as Pele, Kāne Milohai, Kapo, Nāmaka, and Hi'iaka. She is also known for her ability to give life and create islands.

Haumea even has a thin, icy ring, rare for a dwarf planet, which gives it the appearance of a crowned goddess.

To stick Haumea is to carry with you the energy of a cosmic goddess, swift, brilliant and free, a reminder that even in the icy confines of the Solar System, beauty and movement never sleep. Her sticker awaits you on our shop website!
