Francisella tularensis is responsible for tularemia, also known as “rabbit disease” ! 🐇 Not very cute, though… This infection is rare but serious, and is often transmitted by contact with infected rodents or other small animals, or by tick bites (always them!).

Once in the body, F. tularensis can cause sudden fever, muscle pain, skin ulcers, and sometimes even deeper infections, affecting the eyes or lungs. Not exactly an invitation to cuddle!

Fortunately, this disease is very treatable with antibiotics, if caught early enough! To avoid encountering the “dangerous” version of this bacteria, it is best to wear protective clothing and avoid handling sick animals, especially in high-risk areas such as humid forests and swamps.

But in sticker form? No danger! So, ready to add Francisella tularensis to your collection? A rare and prestigious bacteria, without the symptoms! 🦠✨
