Callisto is Jupiter's second largest moon and one of the oldest surfaces in the Solar System! It is also one of the four Galilean moons, named after the astronomer that discovered them. Covered in ice and rock, it is dotted with immense craters, witnesses to a past filled with cosmic impacts. Unlike other moons, Callisto appears calm and frozen, without major geological activity, which makes it a true natural museum of the cosmos.

Its atmosphere is almost non-existent, but its icy surface could hide liquid water beneath kilometers of ice, a secret that fascinates scientists.

FUN FACT: This moon's name comes from the nymph Callisto of Greek mythology, one of Artemis' huntresses. Callisto comes from the Greek word " kallos ," meaning "beautiful." This nymph captured the attention of Zeus (Jupiter) with her beauty. The king of the gods took the form of a figure of Artemis and charmed Callisto. Angered by this news, Hera transformed the nymph into a bear. Zeus, in turn, paid homage to her by transforming her into the constellation Ursa Major.

Sticking on Callisto's sticker on your phone means taking a piece of time and space directly onto your notebook, your computer... or your imaginary rocket! Luckily, her sticker is available on our store's website!
