Discovered in 1851, Ariel is one of Uranus's large moons, and arguably the most fascinating! With its mix of ice and rock, it boasts a brilliant, spectacular surface. It features immense canyons, mysterious valleys, and traces of ancient impacts, like the scars of a turbulent past. Scientists even believe that Ariel has experienced internal heating, powerful enough to reshape its icy crust. The result: a frozen landscape, but one full of stories to tell.

FUN FACT: The name Ariel comes from a Shakespearean literary work, as do the other moons of Uranus.
